The Bakery

As an artisan baker, I am proud to do what bakers have been doing for thousands of years – creating life out of flour, water and salt. Stop by and try a fresh slice for yourself! Want a taste? See the, Where to Find Us page to see where we will be.

And just a little more about me… I grew up outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts in 2002. I jumped at the opportunity for an externship at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs and moved to this beautiful state that same year. I’ve had amazing opportunities to grow and refine my culinary know-how at restaurants in Golden, Denver, and most recently, Boulder. I reside on Raleigh Street in north west Denver with my wife Missy and my two marvelous mutts, Olive and Caper. Thanks to the support, shovels and sweat of my invaluable friends, I broke ground on the Raleigh Street Bakery dream in August 2014 and sold my first loaf (honey wheat – thanks, Matthew and Mamata!) in January 2015.

About the Bread

Raleigh Street Bakery operates under Colorado’s cottage food law. This means you can purchase delicious artisan bread, directly from me, your neighbor. All of the breads are naturally leavened and made with organic ingredients. Every loaf is hand mixed, hand shaped and then baked in my home wood and gas burning hearth oven.

You can preorder our bread through our share program and pick it up on Fridays at the bakery from 10 am to 6 pm and on Tuesdays at Call to Arms Brewing Company from 4 to 7 pm. Follow this link to the share form to sign up!

How to Order

Order one loaf month or three loaves a week, there are no minimums. You will receive a reminder email the day before your bread is ready for pick up. Simply follow the link below to the order form to submit your order.

Each order form covers a 5 week span. If you’d prefer to order weekly vs preplanning, all orders are due by 8 p.m. two days before your pickup day.

Payment can be made when you pick up your bread. We accept cash, check or credit card. If you need to change your pickup day or adjust your order, simply contact me at (david@raleighstreetbakery.com) and I will do my best to accommodate your request.

Raleigh Street Bakery bread is produced in a home kitchen that is not subject to state licensure or inspection and that may also process common food allergens such as tree nuts, peanuts, eggs, soy, wheat, milk, fish and crustacean shellfish. This product is not intended for resale.

WHAT I DO

CREATIVE DIRECTION

As a creative director my strength lies in providing leadership not only to the design team but also collaborating across management. Through strategic and constructive processes with a focus on improving efficiencies, I deliver engaging designs that will strengthen brands and influence audiences for years to come.

ART DIRECTION

The balance between wants and needs often comes down to listening and interpretation. Not only identifying the right audiences and the proper form of design needed but management of all the individual pieces to form a strong and cohesive message is what allows projects to be embraced.

BRANDING

From the simple logo at the local bakery to the complex pages of a corporate signage manual, branding incorporates a wide range of information. However the objective remains the same, to reflect and encompass the goals, personality, and character of its subject.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

Ergonomics and human proportions provide flexibility to a design’s form and function. Analyzing special relationships and population trends will further influence a design’s success of catering to the vast majority of the population.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Graphic design tells its stories through imagery, color, and layout. Some graphics provide pertinent information, yet others are used to spark feelings. No matter what the intent, the overall goal remains the same - to make a connection with the audience to create a memorable experience.

PACKAGING DESIGN

Packaging can be a very influential communication tool. The look, feel, and touch of a package help the product stand out on a shelf while, brand recognition, lifestyle choices and perceived value create emotional bonds. Through these properties and values packages form a connection with consumers.

WEB DESIGN

Web sites are the best way to connect with people throughout the world. Because of their flexibility, they have become one of the most influential ways to pass along information. A website is a powerful tool, but must be well organized and well designed to affectively capture an audience.

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

Through each of our 5 senses, we create experiences. Some of these may be visual experiences influenced by light and shadow while others are physical experiences, such as the comfort of a piece of furniture. Each experience helps form memories, which influence and enhance our everyday lives.
